Inked in History

SAVE THE DATE!
Join us for Inked in History on Friday, November 13, from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm, to learn about the history of tattooing in Oklahoma as we commemorate the 2oth anniversary of the signing of Senate Bill 806!
Senate Bill 806 was signed by Governor Brad Henry on November 1, 2006 and legalized tattooing in the state of Oklahoma, making it the last state to do so. At this special event, visitors will learn about the history of tattooing in Oklahoma, it’s roots in Indigenous cultures, and speak to Oklahoma tattoo artists. Visitors will also have a chance to receive flash tattoos by one the artists!
Entry to this event is included in the regular cost of admission at no extra charge. Those wanting to receive a tattoo must be 18 years of age and produce a valid ID. Tattoos are on a first-come, first-serve basis and are a separate fee payable to the artist. The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center does not have an ATM machine, so please be prepared in advance.
Be sure to check back for more information as the event draws closer!
