October 4, 2025, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm

Join us for a fun day celebrating our agricultural heritage in the Cherokee Strip from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4! The Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center’s annual Family Farm Day gives families the opportunity to experience different hands-on crafts and demonstrations that harken back to our proud farming heritage in Northwest Oklahoma. Come shell and grind corn, decorate pumpkins, and participate in a silent bake auction! These are just a few of the offerings families and visitors of all ages will experience during Family Farm Day!

This year, we are embracing Farm-to-Table and highlighting how early Oklahoma residents provided for themselves before the introduction of grocery stores and commercial preservation! In addition to our popular annual activities like the petting zoo by Daze in a Maze, vintage tractors supplied by the Major County Historical Society, and pumpkin painting, we will have special programs that include Native American farming techniques by Native Farming Solutions, early drying/preservation practices utilized by homesteaders, and more! Leonardo’s Children’s Museum is joining us again this year and Crazy Plate Catering will also be providing a special Farm-to-Table themed lunch option!

Get your picture taken on a vintage tractor, while riding a pony, or next to our pile of pumpkins while they last, or sit and enjoy some live tunes by Zoetrope Old Time & Celtic Music. There are plenty of opportunities to make memories when you visit Family Farm Day!

Entrance to this event is included in the regular museum admission at no extra charge. Call 580-237-1907 for more information!
